Scotland Against Greyhound Exploitation (SAGE) was established in 2019 with one aim in mind; to bring an end to greyhound racing in Scotland and beyond.
In April 2017 we began having weekly protests outside Scotland's last remaining licensed racetrack. For three years, come rain or shine, we stood outside Shawfield stadium in Glasgow educating the public about the reality of greyhound racing.
We witnessed the number of people 'going to the races' drop significantly over that time. But we knew weekly protests weren't enough to achieve our ultimate goal: a full ban on greyhound racing in Scotland.
Each of the SAGE Team has, or has had, rescued hounds so we have first hand experience of how greyhounds are treated by the racing industry. We've seen the scars, dealt with the fear and picked up the pieces of dogs that have been broken and discarded. But we've based our argument on EVIDENCE, much of which was published by the racing industry itself.
